Join us Sunday, April 30, at 8:30 for a hike at Wehr Nature Center, an inland birding hotspot. We will meet outside the center and watch the feeders there as we wait for everyone to arrive.

Wehr Nature Center is a 220 acre nature preserve and is part of Whitnall Park. The trails go through woodlands, prairies, around Mallard Lake, and near creeks. There are hills, uneven paths, and boardwalks.

Wehr has all-terrain mobility chairs that may be reserved online at https://friendsofwehr.org/accessibility/. The Wehr Nature Center building has restrooms and will be open at 8:30 am.

Be sure to check out the displays inside, including a beautiful mural around the welcome desk that was painted by local artist Judith Huf.

Sunday mornings will have a lot of birders on the trails including a group called the Wehr Birders, so there will be lots of eyes to let us know the best places to check out.

Parking: You’ll see signs in the parking lot that ask for $5 parking fees for non-members. Wehr staff will waive the parking fee for the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin for this event.
