Join us for Black Birders Week 2026 at Piece of Mined Acres with Color in the Outdoors and the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin!

Welcome, introductions, and light breakfast

Birding, hiking, and outdoor activities

*Vans depart for Madison and Milwaukee at 3:00 PM


Black Birders Week event shirt, provided free to attendees. Sorry, only adult t-shirt sizes available.

The event is limited to BIPOC members only, and each attendee is welcome to participate in the guided bird walks and to receive a free t-shirt and meals (breakfast & lunch). Registration is FREE but required so we have enough supplies and transportation for everyone!

We’re excited to welcome bird lovers of all backgrounds to celebrate joy, community, and the great outdoors. This event is open to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), including those in our LGBTQIA+ community. Our other events throughout the year are open to allies.

What to Expect and Accessibility

  • We will have binoculars for everyone to borrow

  • Full restrooms are available at Piece of Mined

  • Pay attention to the forecast and dress accordingly

  • Bring your favorite snacks, water, and sun protection!
