The BIPOC Birding Club is thrilled to be hosting our fourth annual, Birdathon! The Birdathon is like a walk-a-thon, but instead of counting miles walked, teams count bird species that they see!
Join us for this annual birding and fundraising event, starting in Milwaukee’s Lake Park, break for lunch (location TBD!), and then continue birding by the lake!
Your donations help to support programming such as:
The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's Bird Protection Fund, which funds Wisconsin's highest priority bird conservation projects.
Our club’s work to bring Birding Backpacks into local neighborhood centers and community hubs. Each backpack costs an estimated $300! 🎒
Meeting Location
We’ll meet at the north end of Lake Park in Milwaukee near the playground, GPS location 43.072585, -87.869561 (Google Maps link).
What to Expect
We love new birders! As always, birders of all skill levels are welcome and we have child- and adult-sized binoculars available for those who’d like to borrow a pair.
Want to join us mid-way through the day? Call / text Sean at (four-one-four) 979 - one four one four for location updates.
About the Great Wisconsin Birdathon:
The Birdathon is Wisconsin’s largest fundraiser for bird conservation and happens each spring. Bird-lovers across the state come together to help raise over $100,000 for Wisconsin’s most important bird conservation projects, including the protection of imperiled species like Whooping Cranes, Piping Plovers, and Kirtland’s Warblers.
Please help us raise money to support the Natural Resource Foundation’s bird conservation work and help the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin continue providing birding events and opportunities that welcome more BIPOC folks into the outdoors!
