Chestnut-sided Warbler in Fall Plumage by Rita Flores Wiskowski

Join us for a walk through the beautiful and scenic Lion’s Den Gorge in Ozaukee County, just north of Milwaukee. Wetlands, woodlands, and bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan make this an ideal location for seeing a variety of birds - waterfowl, shorebirds, flycatchers, warblers in confusing fall plumage, and more!

What to Expect and Accessibility

We love new birders! As always, birders of all skill levels and ages are welcome!

  • We have child- and adult-sized binoculars available for those who’d like to borrow a pair!

  • The trails are pretty easy with wide, flat, and well-maintained gravel paths and boardwalks.

  • Public bathrooms will be available!

  • Be sure to dress for the weather and pack insect repellent!

  • Since our events are public spaces, it is possible that you may appear in photos. Please notify someone on our team if you prefer not to have your photo taken at an event.
